Theory of joy
Theory of Joy envisions a world where education is universally accessible, and no one goes hungry. Our mission is to address the root causes of poverty by actively supporting disadvantaged families. We achieve this through the establishment of study centers, comprehensive curriculum improvement, and the provision of ongoing educational opportunities for all ages. Moreover, we are committed to building sustainable water wells within communities and providing nutritious meals to those in need. With your invaluable support, we empower students to pursue their dreams with reduced burdens in impoverished regions, where the challenges of poverty often hinder their potential.
Projects

Sustainable Water Well
In collaboration with UCI Blum Center, we have undertaken the construction of sustainable water wells, with the aim of liberating school children from the arduous task of traveling long distances to access clean water. This initiative is designed to enable these young learners to devote more of their valuable time and energy to pursuing their educational aspirations.

Meals for School Children
In addition to nourishing meals for students and essential groceries for their families, our initiative aims to create a supportive environment that encourages regular school attendance and eases the burdens faced by these households.

Continuing Education Program
In collaboration with the d-Orbital Games and Radiant Journey, we addressed both immediate and long-term needs in our community. One crucial initiative focuses on providing tailored continuing education classes for adults, aimed at boosting their skills, confidence, and employability to strengthen the local economy. Our belief is that lifelong learning can be a powerful catalyst for personal and community prosperity, breaking age barriers and offering a path to economic advancement.

Study Center
We have established a dedicated study center, providing students with a solid foundation to pursue their education effectively. In addition to this, we’ve taken steps to integrate sustainable chemistry into their curriculum and promote agricultural education, fostering a holistic learning environment that empowers students while promoting environmental awareness and self-sufficiency.
Hello there!
I proudly grew up in the Philippines, a nation where a staggering 25% of the population lives below the poverty line. My upbringing gave me the privilege of spending time with incredible families who grapple with the relentless challenges of hunger and the pursuit of a quality education. They reside in makeshift homes crafted from tarpaulins and corrugated metal sheets, while their schools are humble structures constructed from banana leaves. Immersing myself in their world profoundly transformed my perspective.
As I’ve matured, these experiences have ignited an unwavering passion within me to empower and uplift my fellow Filipinos. I firmly believe that we can infuse joy into our hearts and the lives of the less fortunate through your support, whether it be through purchases or donations. I wholeheartedly subscribe to the idea that education serves as the most potent gateway to a better life, and it is hard to thrive with an empty stomach.
Theory of Joy is our endeavor to tackle these pressing issues, with a commitment to alleviate poverty, allow people to pursue dreams, and make the world a better place.
I’m thrilled that you’ve found your way to this site! Together, we can bring about positive change and brighten the future of those who need it most.
Love,
Erin Joy Araneta
